The Homeward Bound collection documents a heartfelt exploration of the landscapes that sparked a profound connection on a visit to Northern California during the summer of 2023. Painted en plein air in and around Mount Shasta, these pieces capture the region’s breathtaking beauty—from cascading waterfalls and sunrises over tranquil lakes to fields of wild daisies and the ever-majestic Mount Shasta herself.

Each painting holds the spontaneity and vibrancy of that pivotal journey, created using gouache—a medium discovered on the trip after leaving my watercolors behind and finding inspiration (and supplies!) at The Velvet Elephant, a sweet little art shop in town. Homeward Bound reflects the excitement, wonder, and growing sense of belonging that led to a life-changing decision to move and make this stunning place home.
